BOSSES TELLING LIES TO GET AHEAD

Dishonesty is a key tool in managers' hunt for promotion. Research conducted by OnePoll for CMI reveals that almost one in three managers tell at least one lie at work every day. Researchers also discovered that 41% of managers see job progression as more important than behaving morally. However, some managers are saying one thing, but doing another. While many admit to leaving their morals at home in the pursuit of career goals, 66% say it is important to present an image of being ethical at work. "A veneer of respectability appears to be hiding the unscrupulous acts of many managers," said Patrick Woodman, CMI head of external affairs.
