The government has called on engineers to come forward with ideas on how technology can bring greater protection from crime. It has issued a consultation paper requesting views on emerging technologies and how they can best be used to prevent and solve criminal activity. The fear is that as advances in information and communications continue, criminals will find increasingly sophisticated ways of targeting their victims.
