Urgent skills training for SMEs gets ￡65m boost from government scheme

The government is to pump ￡65 million into skills training for engineering companies as part of a new scheme for SMEs. In partnership with Semta, the sector skills council for science, engineering and manufacturing technologies, the money will be used to deliver "urgently required skills" with companies able to access grants of between ￡500 and ￡1,800 per employee, depending on their training needs.rnThe partnership will allow, engineering firms to access funding through the Train to Gain programme.
