Ian Roberts is a pioneering engineer. And he's hoping that, unlike some engineer-pioneers, he will derive a steady business and a comfortable income from his enterprise. Roberts has become the first British individual to be accredited as an EMAS verifier. There are, he says, a few individual verifiers in Germany, maybe a couple of dozen in France and a dozen or so in Austria. But he is Britain's one and only.
