The automotive industry is in a state of flux as it looks to try and shift to powertrain technologies that help engines produce fewer emissions and sidestep fines that could impact on business models. While the pressure to invest in electrified powertrains is unavoidable, you can't simply drop overnight a technology that has powered our mobility for more than a century. So there is still a huge amount of research and development work being done to improve the combustion engine -whether petrol or diesel.
