Application of ISA S84.01 to SIS in the chemical and petrochemical industries

The Kellogg Brown & Root Company(KBR)has created a Safety Guide for Safety Instrumented Systems(SIS). This Guide defines what must be addressed in designing a safety sys- Tem, and incorporates the application of ISA S84.01. It pro- Vides a way to perform a quantitative analysis for verification Of the SIL values. The life cycle process is presented. The docu- Mentation is defined, and some forms are provided. This presentation review each step in design of the SIS Starting with management commitment.
