'Biochemical Engineering Science' dedicated to Professor Dr. T. Yoshida

It is our great pleasure and honor to edit this special issue "Biochemical Engineering Science" of Process Biochemistry dedicated to Professor Dr. Toshiomi Yoshida. The preparation of this special issue was launched on the occasion of Professor Yoshida sensei's 70th birthday of last year. Here, we are happy to see that after a strict and rather long review process, a special issue is now finalized under the cooperation and support by the authors and referees. In the following, we would like to have a brief introduction to Professor Yoshida and this special issue.
