It is important to estimate the influence of the layered soil in soil-structure interaction analysis. Although great numbers of investigation were presented on this subject, practical methods without complex calculation are very few. In this paper, a simple and practical method to estimate the horizontal impedance of the rigid foundation on the surface Of multi-layered soil is proposed.
