The Economic Situation of Agricultural Producers

Since 1998, the Center for the Study of Business Conditions of the government of the Russian Federation (RF) and the RF president's Federal Agency for Government Communications and Information have conducted regular surveys of the heads of agricultural organizations of all organizational and legal forms of management, as well as private farms. The data from these surveys are used to analyze and assess what is happening in the agrarian sector. The latest sample survey was conducted at the end of 2003 in thirty-four regions of the Russian Federation (the sample size was 1,431 people), concerning the economic and financial condition of agricultural producers in 2001-2.
