A Siberian Curse?

The book The Siberian Curse was the result of research participated in by associates of the well-known Brookings Institution (whose president is S. Talbott) F. Hill and C. Gaddy, an American-Russian team of economists at Pennsylvania State University, researchers at the Moscow New Economic School, experts at the World Bank, and many others mentioned in the "Acknowledgments." The grateful authors, indicating the colleagues who in one way or another took part in the research or shared their data on the problems being dealt with, named twelve Russian and ninety-five American and Canadian scholars, among whom were quite a few very prominent specialists on Russia.
