The emerging financial crisis demonstrates the real level of financial globalization. It would be unusual if the Russian economy remained a "safe haven " in the present environment. But is the United States or Russia to blame for the Russian crisis? It seems that the U.S. crisis has merely been the trigger but the Russian economy has its own internal problems. Any attempts to maintain the existing model of economic growth will further exacerbate the situation.
