Potential for Cooperation between Border Municipalities in Zabaikalsk Krai and the Neighboring Areas of China (Priargunsky and Zabaikalsky Districts)

摘要

This article summarizes the results of statistical analysis and an expedition surveying the Priargunsky and Zabaikalsky districts of Zabaikalsk krai, which border on China. Using that information, we offer an assessment of economic and infrastructural potential and perspectives for cross-border cooperation. Our analysis of the sociodemographic situation in agriculture, industry, and foreign economic cooperation in the surveyed areas allowed us to formulate conclusions and recommendations for generating border cooperation with neighboring Chinese areas.
