The possibility to reconvert pseudony-mised data into identifiable data means that, for certain use cases, it will be a more desirable, as well as achievable, route to follow. Provided controllers remain cognizant of the continued applicability of the Regulation to the resulting data (albeit in a somewhat reduced form), it can be an effective mechanism for managing compliance and reducing, if not eliminating, the headaches associated with processing of personal data under the GDPR.
