The results of the 2005 PCD&M Designers Salary Survey are in - the first-ever to target solely PCB design and layout professionals. Since this is the first time we've surveyed designers separately - the design engineer contingent was surveyed last fall - we can't compare these results with results from other surveys year-on-year. But because this information comes from PCB designers only, it should provide a good baseline to compare against future designer-only surveys. With each salary survey, we try to work out a few more of the bugs that plague any such effort. We've mailed sur-veys, posted them online - you name it, we've tried it. For the past few years we've posted the survey in a secure location on our Web site, and emailed links to the subscribers who have given us permission to email them.
