Geological Survey of South Australia: An overview of the Gawler Craton Airborne Survey – new data and products

The 1.66 million line km GawlerCraton Airborne Survey (GCAS) isnow moving into its final stage, with99% of its magnetic, radiometricand elevation data acquisition nowcomplete (Figure 1). There has beena recent pause in acquisition due toshared access arrangements withinthe Woomera Prohibited Area (WPA),however that has not stopped thecontinued processing, quality controland data enhancements being appliedto the currently acquired data, as theGCAS team endeavour to release oneof the most comprehensive, highquality airborne surveys in SouthAustralia’s history. The survey hascaptured magnetics, radiometricsand elevation data at 200 m linespacing with a 60 m ground clearance,improving the resolution of existinggrids based on existing 400 m linespaced data by a factor of 4.
