摘要

Protection of juvenile fish from being killed in diversion facilities is a known problem in environment protection and in the rational use and reproduction of natural resources. The NIIES Joint-Stock Company has actively worked on this problem for 25 years. The Volgograd subdivision of the company primarily develops fish protecting devices (FPD) for preventing food fish and their young from destruction in existing power and commercial diversion facilities where fish protection had been ignored or where the old ineffective FPD require replacement. As a rule, this work concerns: determination of predominant species and age groups of young fish driven to the intake; determination of the sizes, configuration and hydrologi-cal characteristics of the zone of the intake effect; disassembling of the FPD and its assembling in the composition of the diversion unit; optimization of the hydraulic parameters and components of the FPD with the help of hydraulic models; coordination of the FPD parameters with fish protecting authorities; development of detailed design of the FPD; field supervision of the construction and participation in the commissioning.
