LIMIT STATE OF MOUNTING STUDS FOR THE TURBINE COVER OF A HYDROELECTRIC SET AND DEVELOPMENT OF A STUD MONITORING SYSTEM

The behavior of the mounting stud joining the turbine cover and the casing is analyzed in connection with the "minor factors" revealed in investigating the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP. The possibility of altering the design of the stud to improve its fatigue strength and to develop a basis for monitoring its condition is examined.
