摘要

Results of numerical hydrothermal simulation of the thermal regimes in the design of the external cooling systems of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (Turkey) and the Kudan Kulam nuclear power plant (India), both of which are situated on the sea coast, are set forth. The STREAM 3D software package for calculation of the three-dimensional fields of stratified flows and temperatures in a hydrostatic approximation are used in the investigations. Different ways of optimizing the thermal regimes and configurations of coastal hydraulic structures by means of which the temperature in the water intakes of a nuclear power plant and in the adjacent body of water may be reduced to levels that satisfy the regulatory requirements are proposed.
