A comparative study of the measurement accuracy capabilities ofnsolid state watthour meters and other commercially available measurementninstruments was performed. This study proposes a set of mathematicallyndesigned “waveforms” that could be used as a standard fornthe uniform, meaningful and reproducible evaluation testing of solidnstate watthour meters designed for use in nonsinusoidal environments.nThe test waveforms were theoretically developed based on an extensivendatabase of field captured distorted waveforms that, in most cases, werenmonitored and recorded during power quality investigations over the lastnfive years. Experimentation was performed using both the theoreticallyndeveloped waveforms and the field captured waveforms
