With a Majority of Power Plants More Than 25 Years Old—and Many Well Beyond Age 30— investor-owned electric utilities and independent power producers alike are refurbishing existing plant equipment to improve efficiencies and reduce operating and maintenance (O&M) costs. At many of these plants, improving the efficiency of aging steam turbine equipment has proven to be an especially beneficial option.
