Fluidized Bed Combustion: Solid Fuel Survivor

Somewhat lost in the large shadow cast by the combustion turbine run-up of recent years, fluidized bed combustion (FBC) is slowly, but confidently, staking out favorable project applications. Buoyed by technology advances, fuel flexibility, environmental performance and adaptability to end user requirements, FBC projects are often competitive with combined-cycle systems for new generation and represent a viable repowering option for large coal-fired plants.
