The news release from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment states, "The research showed that in comparison with death rates for the general public, the death rates for Rocky Flats workers were lower for all causes and for cancer." Once again, the nuclear industry faces the issue of how to deal with the ambiguities of an epidemiological study's conclusions and the interpretation the popular press places on them.
