Change Your Plan, Not Your Oil

These days our automobiles are getting more of a say in their maintenance. About every three thousand miles a little light starts flashing on the dash or navigation screen to let us know it's time for an oil change. And because we've all heard a mechanic say, "Oil is the lifeblood of your car's engine," we don't take chances. We bring the vehicle to a dealership or Xpress Lube and pay the service, comfortable knowing that we may well have averted a catastrophic failure with timely action. Several quarts of oil (even the pricey synthetic stuff) seems a small price to pay for maintaining such an expensive machine that's so important to our lives. It's a no-brainer, really.
