Low natural gas prices, an increase in the use of renewable energy and the high upfront costs of nuclear have dominated the headlines, but many in the nuclear industry believe these are just temporary setbacks. Power Engineering sat down with several nuclear industry executives about the current state of nuclear and its future. The participants were: Bill Johnson, CEO of the Tennessee Valley Authority; Mike Rencheck, CEO of AREVA Inc. North America; Marvin Fertel, CEO of the Nuclear Energy Institute; Neil Wilmshurst, Vice President of Nuclear, Electric Power Research Institute; and Joe Zwetolitz, President of Nuclear Energy, Babcock & Wilcox.
