Overseas activities and co-operation (British Electricity International)

Through British Electricity International (BEI) the experience and expertise of the British electricity boards, including the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB), which together make up one of the largest fully interconnected electricity utilities in the world, are made available to overseas utilities. The experience and expertise within the boards has been obtained over the years by actually developing and operating the advanced, integrated, high-technology system. The authors give the background to BEI and then go on to discuss the electricity supply industry in Britain. Examples of the services offered by BEI are given.
