摘要

Metallic nanoparticles are the extensively used engineered nanomaterials in the different industrial products, for instance, cosmetic, food and pharmacology. This subsequently leads to pollution of the aquatic environment by the residue of the metallic particles due to the improper procurement of the wastage product from the industries. Therefore, methods to assess the level of toxicities of the metallic nanoparticles in the aquatic environment is an urge as the aquatic organisms are the essential source of food. Intake of nanoparticles contaminated food may lead to poor health of life for those who consume the aquatic organisms such as cyanobacteria and algae for nutrient at the origin point. The concrete facts on current industry in the usage of metallic nanoparticles and the impacts on the aquatic organisms are reviewed in this report especially and specifically for silver, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide nanoparticles which are widely used in the modem industry. Detailed toxic effects of the mentioned types of particles in the living cells are highlighted in this review.
