Early Commercialization of FBR Proposed: 18th CNFC General Meeting

The 18th General Meeting of Council for Nuclear Fuel Cycle (CNFC) was held in Hitotsubashi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo on June 3, the FY2008 activities and financial reports, and the FY2009 activity program and budget plan were approved without any revisions. A change among the Directors was also approved. Summary of the approved activity program and the change in Directors are as follows. The U.S. Barack Obama administration has been so busy fighting with the global economic recession after coming into power in January 2009 that it has yet to propose a clear policy on energy, including global warming countermeasures.
