Energy and Nuclear Power Policies for the Future, and Japan: Politics to Be

Tsushima: Today, we would like to exchange opinions on future energy and nuclear energy policies. Naturally, energy policy must be discussed with mid to long term issues firmly in mind. Debate on energy policy is now centered on present measures being taken regarding the great earthquake happened on March 11 and subsequent Fukushima nuclear power station accident. This is, in some ways, inevitable, but a fundamental and key issue is how to secure energy for Japan and countries on earth, and especially how to do this while trying to mitigate further global warming.
