Watts Water Technologies, Inc., detailed its strategic plan to use NSF International as its agency of choice for testing and certifying the lead-free content of products designed and manufactured by its Watts, Ames Fire & Waterworks, FEBCO, Powers, and Sea Tech brands and companies. The third-party testing procedures will demonstrate compliance with the new federal lead-free law, which takes effect January 4,2014. The new law mandates the wetted surface of lead-free products contacted by consumable water contain less than 0.25 percent of lead by weight.
