NRC accepts Areva's US-EPR filing for full technical review by staff

Areva NP Inc.'s design certification application for its 1,600-MW US-EPR was accepted for a full technical review by the NRC staff February 25. The staff said the application, submitted December 11, 2007 and supplemented on February 7 and February 20, was complete enough for docketing. A detailed review schedule is to be posted within 30 days, although there is one matter that raises "uncertainty" about the schedule, an NRC staffer said.
