ACRS subcommittee supports safety analyses for fuel cycle facilities

An NRC advisory subcommittee this month examined nthe differences between integrated safety analyses, or nISAs, and probabilistic risk assessments, or PRAs. The nsubcommittee members raised no major objections in a npublic session on an NRC staff paper that concluded ISAs nare acceptable for assuring the safety of fuel cycle facilities nregulated under Part 70.
