摘要

NRC inspectors have concluded that the source of a leak of water contaminated with tritium at Entergy’s Indian Point-2 in late January was the “reverse osmosis system that was being used to clean water” held in a refueling water storage tank and that there is no longer any leakage, agency spokesman Neil Sheehan said in a February 18 email. Sheehan said in a separate email February 17 that Entergy’s current estimate of the volume of tritiated water that leaked from the storage tank is “not more than 3,500 gallons,” compared with the company’s initial estimate of 25,000 gallons.
