NRC increases oversight at Clinton following security finding

NRC has increased oversight at Exelon Generation’s 1,098-MW Clinton in Illinois after a final determination of a “greater-than-green” finding related to security regulations, the agency said in a Nov. 2 letter made public Nov. 3. Clinton was moved, effective the third quarter of 2020, from column 1 to column 2, in NRC's five-column reactor oversight process. NRC told Exelon in the letter it plans to conduct a supplemental inspection “when your staff has notified us of your readiness” for the inspection.
