NRC completes environmental review of license renewal for Exelon's Peach Bottom

Environmental impacts from the continued operation of ExelonGeneration's Peach Bottom plant in Pennsylvania are not significantenough to prevent NRC from renewing the plant's operating licensesfor an additional 20 years, the agency said in a statement January 27.Exelon applied in July 2018 to renew the operating licenses for thePeach Bottom-2 and -3 boiling water reactors. The current licenses forthe two units, which have a combined capacity of 2,730 MW, expire inAugust 2033 and July 2034, respectively.
