Environmental documents issued for Columbia fuel plant license renewal

NRC has issued for public comment new draft environmental reviewdocuments on Westinghouse’s application to renew for 40 years thelicense of its Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility in South Carolina, NRCsaid November 5.The draft environmental analysis and finding of no significantimpact, or FONSI, document staff’s findings in its review of theapplication and the licensee’s environmental report, documents thathave been updated several times since Westinghouse filed the renewalrequest in 2014.
