Biofuels firms feel overlooked on loan guarantees

The Energy Department has rolled outneight loan guarantees in the last 12nmonths, providing financial backing fornthree solar companies, three wind proj-nects, one nuclear power plant and annemission-control equipment manufactur-ner. But DOE has yet to steer any of itsnloan-making power to cellulosic ethanolnprojects, and many in the biofuels indus-ntry, which is still struggling to gain anfoothold in the marketplace, are none tonpleased to be left out of the party so far.
