European power demand faces two more years of recovery

German and UK electricity demand will not reach pre-recession levels until 2012, but French power demand will recover more rapidly, according to analysts at French investment bank Societe Generale. "On average, in Western Europe, demand should grow around 1% in 2010 vs. 2009," utilities and energy senior credit analyst Florence Roche said. "Only in 2012 should we come back to 2008 levels in Germany and the UK.
