Maine, New Brunswick explore energy corridor proposal to strengthen markets

The governments of Maine and New Brunswick detailed plansnlast week to study a possible energy corridor between the twonregions to deliver power and other forms of energy to market.nCalled the Northeast Energy Corridor, the project wouldncreate a path for electricity, petroleum products and natural gas,noffered by various energy companies in the Northeast.nIn the first phase of the project, the governments will studyna possible 1,200-MW to 1,500-MW transmission line betweennMaine and New Brunswick, wind farms in both jurisdictionsnand a 500-MW to 600-MW baseload cogeneration plant in SaintnJohn, New Brunswick. The cogeneration plant would be built toncounter intermittency of the wind generators.
