APA keeps you young! (Now, there's a value of membership you may not have realized!) A primary purpose of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners is to promote and provide education about planning. For members, APA and AICP offer a broad array of educational opportunities-from individualized self-study materials to interactive small-group workshops to the cornucopia of sessions and events at the National Planning Conference. And, on behalf of members, APA develops and delivers education to other audiences: related disciplines, planning officials, the public, the media, and others. Further, APA contributes to the mission of planning schools and their accreditation process by shaping the scope of the profession and identifying what planners need to know.
