Call for papers: 14th International Planning History Society Conference, Istanbul, Turkey - 'Urban Transformation: Controversies, Contrasts and Challenges', 12-15 July 2010

摘要

The conference theme seeks to provide an opportunity for critical reflection upon aspects of urban transformation and planning histories from across the world, but also a forum upon which professional and academic knowledge and expertise may be shared in Istanbul, the European Capital of Culture, 2010. Recently, Istanbul has provided the focus for a number of initiatives directed toward urban transformation, which have in turn brought a variety of challenges addressed in the related domains of planning, urban governance, cultural and social structure, and historic preservation.
