There is a growing requirement for large pipeline SCADA systems and performance is becoming a crucial aspect of system design and operations. Typically, performance has not been adequately characterized in the specification phase, and has been difficult to validate during factory-acceptance testing. By more accurately describing system load, validating performance using higher-fidelity models during factory testing, and leveraging a SCADA health-monitoring infrastructure that integrates both SCADA and IT performance metrics, large systems can be delivered and managed with much higher confidence.
