The Mismeasure of Our Very Human Existence

In this brief paper, I will attempt to situate Robert Crease's World in the Balance in relation to Martin Heidegger and Edmund Husserl since they place measurement at the very center of the development of scientific method and were the first to understand just how deeply this transformed both the understanding and the being of the world. Hopefully, this will provide context to Crease's careful and insightful analysis. In keeping with this focus, I will then conclude with a comment about his contrast between the ontic and the ontological approach to measurement.
