While KT gears up to launch the first 5G-like systems and services during the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, global CXOs have flocked to India for its first Mobile Congress to discuss possibilities for connecting the next billion people. While most agree that India will be 5G-ready by 2020, there are open questions of economic viability for operators amidst declining ARPUs and unexpected changes in the regulatory environment.
