Tencent puts START on TV but more players could mean more regulation

Tencent’s cloud gaming service START will come to TV soon toaddress a wider audience. The first round of available games incudesLeague of Legends and FIFA Online 4. China’s cloud gaming industrywill surge in the next few years.Tencent officially launched the TV version of its START cloudgaming service on December 12, 2020. Availability is limited to fourpartnered TV manufacturers namely TCL, Hisense, Changhong andSuning’s Biu, but Tencent promises to extend into more devices. Theservice has been open beta tested on Windows and macOS since2019.
