Translating culture specific references on television: the case of dubbing

This monograph, which is a part of the Routledge Advances in Translation Studies series, takes an in-depth and highly empirical look into how culture-specific references (CSRs) are treated in Italian dubbing. This has been done before in the field of audiovisual translation, but only for subtitling, and never on a large scale for dubbing, so this book plugs a significant gap in our understanding of how this translation problem is treated in different media.
