As your business grows, your data also grows exponentially. As a result, the available storage capacity for storing all this data shrinks. So you buy more storage devices to cater to this growing requirement, and the cycle continues. The trouble is that over a period of time, both user preferences as well as the available storage technologies change, and you end up deploying disparate storage resources in your IT infrastructure.
