Since the inception of Right To Education (RTE) Act in 2 009, the expectations from state school education has grown manifold. The government of MP faced a big challenge of achieving the objectives of quality education and proactive governance through RTE Act, which required managing 1.25L schools across MP. Also, the Act required the state to ensure compulsory admission, attendance and completion of elementary education by all children from 6-14 years (nearly 1.60 crore), and ensuring a pupil-teacher ratio as per the norms. Timely payments of their salaries was also priority.
