Data privacy and security threats have always been the darker side of cloud and a cause for concern among CISOs. However with advanced security capabilities being implemented by cloud service providers, cloud security continues to mature. As the lingering effect of the global recession forces organisations to adopt a 'do more with less' approach, cloud computing is rapidly moving from hype to a must-have service model. Recognising its enormous potential to drive business innovation, agility and growth, while meeting the challenges of cost containment, business leaders are rapidly adopting the cloud model. According to the PwC's 2012 Global State of Information Security Survey, 41% of the respondents said their business is already using cloud services. We further believe, the adoption of cloud is expected to skyrocket in this decade and the chief reason is the increased maturity of cloud service providers and improved trust of cloud service consumers.
