A group of aspiring engineers from J. J. College Of Engineering & Technology, Trichy, have built a software named "Corona" which has won 2nd prize at the Cloud 20/20 Version 4.0 held by Unisys India. We find out more about this program which could be a boon for SMBs looking for cost-effective cloud storage... Cloud computing is a business model where the input is given to the cloud environment and output is got back, in other words it provides computation as a service. Some statistics say that that almost 40% of the IT employees use cloud computing in one form or the other without being aware of it. YouTube and Gmail are such good examples of applications from cloud computing. However, SMBs in India need flexibility which many Cloud service providers (CSP) do not provide at the moment. We outline the main problems with CSPs and how our "Corona" software solves these issues.
