Asus Padfones are a hybrid combination of two mobile devices into one in an elegant manner. The Padfone Mini comprises of a 4 inch Android smartphone and a 7-inch tablet, which also serves as the padfone station. The phone is exactly similar to Zenfone 4 and has the same design and software features. It fits well in one hand and the economically placed buttons help in smooth functioning. The 7 inch tablet is not a stand alone device. It is an extension of the phone and you can only use it when the phone is docked on the 24-pin connector of the tablet unit. It has an individual battery unit, sensors, micro-USB port, power-volume keys and even charges the phone when connected. The back of the tablet has a chrome outline and this is the only metallic part as everything other than this is made of plastic. Overall, the design looks good and is a welcome addition to the Padfone family. The device with 376 gm weight is not that light but at the same time is not the heaviest to use in tablet mode.
